Imported Cars
When purchasing a car, whether new or used, there is a choice between many domestic cars and many imported cars. The choice is a very personal one and it is a subjective one. Now this article is from the viewpoint of someone living in and looking to buy a car in the United States. So imported cars means any car that is brought in from a country outside the U.S. Throughout the history of cars there has been a shift between whether imported cars are better cars or not. In the early days of cars, imported cars were not really an option, although, cars were being built in many countries around the world.
Imported cars are mainstream and even seem to dominate the market in some areas. These cars fall into the class of smaller, fuel efficient cars that are perfect for budget minded and environmental conscious car owners. Often when one thinks of imported cars, the first imported cars that come to mind fit this category of cars and are those from carmakers in Japan, and Korea, for example. But they are by no means the only imported cars on the roads in the U.S. There are some types of cars that are only available as imported cars because comparable cars are not manufactured in the U.S. And with some of these cars, there is a certain amount of prestige that is associated with owning and driving the imported cars that are available.
Beyond buying and driving imported cars for economy and ecology, some people prefer the imported cars over domestic cars because of the styling, handling and sex appeal that they have. Many of the upscale imported cars from Europe appeal to their buyers because they are fast and flashy. They are also very expensive. These imported cars are often referred to as exotic cars. And they have exotic names, exotic histories and exotic prices. When someone desires one of these imported cars, they usually custom order it and wait for it to be made and delivered to the U.S. via special handling.
These very distinctive imported cars are what young boys and men’s dreams are made of. These imported cars are the content of calendars, posters and magazines. These imported cars are available to the very privileged among us. But one has to wonder, what would drive a person to spend over $300,000 on a Lamborghini, for example? But there are plenty of buyers out there for those types of imported cars. But you better have plenty of money to spend on maintenance because replacing a clutch in a car like that can cost you almost $7,000. So you see, there is quite a range of cars to choose from in the imported cars market. From the under $10000 to over a quarter of a million dollars. Economy to luxury, it’s all there in imported cars.
